Born Feb 2002 in Girona, Spain, POSITIVE have just released a self-produced album entitled 'CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER'.
POSITIVE are Stewart - vocals (English), Gavin - solo guitar (Australian), and Catalans Indra (drums), Vishnu (second singer), Popi (bass), Fransesc (rhythm guitar) and Juli (sax).
Positive began to take shape ten years ago. The first formation was thanks to the brothers in the band, Vishnu and Indra. Fanatics of reggae, they searched for other like-minded souls in Catalonia, Spain. Surprisingly, not only did a guitarist arrive but also an English singer who sung all the songs of Bob Marley by heart.
Although it sounds strange, Vishnu and Indra didn't continue with the group. The former, more an enthusiast than a musician, and still now, dedicated himself to follow his vocation as a gardener and singing in the shower. On the other hand, the younger brother with the Spanish ska group Komando Moriles completed the albums "44" and "Alive". That second album was recorded with two drummers because Indra was convinced to return to form the reggae group that he really wanted and needed.
The original group of friends played without drums and were interested for Indra to return with them to play covers. Indra met Stewart singing his own reggae songs and they played together when the others were not rehearsing. Afterwards the bass player and guitarists decided to incorporate more reggae aswell as Indra's big brother, Vishnu.
One fine day, fortunately, Indra met Gavin - the Australian boyfriend of a musical colleague who had just arrived to live in Spain and persuaded him to play reggae, the last thing the Australian expected to find himself doing in Catalonia.
The sound that Gavin gave as solo guitarist together with the re-acquiring of Juli, saxophonist and friend of which we cherished surprise visits to rehearsals, served to complete the form of the group.
POSITIVE were born officially as a group in February this year 2002, at a concert in Cartellà, Girona, Spain. Thanks to an enthusiastic response from the public towards the original songs of the group, POSITIVE propelled themselves into doing what you can hear today.
